Centrally located for all delights:

What we love best about this top-floor loft apartment is its location and inspiring view (above) of Calvi's Citadelle village, a 13th century Genoese fortress towering above the azure bay of Calvi. Sunrise and sunset are especially dramatic on the Citadelle and with the brightly-colored marina at its base, present an unforgettable panorama.

Everything is within walking distance - although the nearby villages, interior valleys and coastal roads are incredibly beautiful - more than enough to warrant a car rental. A third transportation alternative is Corsica's railway which crosses the island connecting villages and beaches along the coast and through the mountains. Perfect for a day or overnight trip, Calvi's railway station is 2 blocks from the apartment, direction Citadelle.

Corsican Vacation Apartment amenities:

* Available for weekly rentals, the apartment sleeps 4. Apartment includes a roomy upstairs loft with new double bed, armoire and window with mountain view. The main floor offers a large kitchen/living room with new double sofa-bed, full-size bathroom with tub/shower, and an enclosed terrace off the living room with panoramic Citadelle and sea view.

* Across the street from a World-Class sandy beach along the bay of Calvi, which offers something for everybody... From incredibly soft sand and warm, shallow waters, to bars and restaurants, watercraft or private lounge chair rentals to soak up the sun- ALL with the magnificent view of Calvi (see pictures above). We believe nothing's quite as wonderful as a swim in the Mediterranean Sea, and with such a short walk, you can go for a quick dip or luxurious soak at a moments notice!

* A few minutes walk to the Citadelle, which artfully blends past and present with ancient cathedrals, restaurants and residences alternating along the winding cobblestone streets. No matter your direction, just around the corner awaits breathtaking views of the sea, mountains and natural beauty of the land.

At night, the Citadelle is transformed into the place to be, as restaurants overflow with glamorous night life, and people promenade along the quay, for a glimpse of the 'rich and famous' enjoying a late-night-supper aboard their yachts.

* 1 minute walk to three boulangeries: When you're hungry for a fresh crisp baguette, pain au chocolate or croissant apricot, you're biggest decision is which boulangerie to visit. You'll find one on the ground floor of the apartment building, one across the street and another only half-a-block away at the SuperU grocery - which is quite good! Two more boulangeries await a few blocks away towards the Citadelle.

* 5 minutes walk to Calvi's many restaurants where you can enjoy delicious Corsican, French or Italian dining alongside the locals. Or pick up something to heat-up for dinner at the SuperU, which has an extensive variety of take-home dinners (of French quality and taste), Corsican charcuterie, cheeses, local wines, aperitifs and deserts.

* 15 minutes from the Airport (Airport code: CLY). You can take a taxi into Calvi, or pick up your car rental at the airport.

Travel Suggestions:

Air Travel - Air France (www.airfrance.us) and it's partner CCM provides inexpensive roundtrip airfare from Paris, Marseille and Nice to Calvi. If you fly into Paris, you will arrive at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport, and then fly to Calvi (CLY) from the smaller Orly Airport in south Paris. We suggest transferring between Airports using the Air France bus, allowing at least 4 hours to make the transfer and check in at Orly.

From Orly, it's only 1 ½ hour flight to Calvi, then a 15 minute taxi ride to the apartment from the Calvi (Saint Catherine airport)!

Or, click on the British flag symbol next to the airport of your choice (Calvi, or Bastia) at this link: http://www.calvi.aeroport.fr/accueil.php for complete schedule/airport information.
